We look forward to welcoming practitioners and partners to join our upcoming ‘how to’ webinar series. This series of webinars provides a platform to be inspired, gain valuable insight and information, and consider the strategic value and impact of the programme with peers and The Wood Foundation’s YPI delivery team.
HOW TO: Enhance charity engagement and visits through YPI
Date – 5th October 3.45-4.30pm.
Charity engagement, specifically charity visits, is a pivotal point in the YPI process, supporting enhanced buy-in and passion from students by providing a real context for their learning. This webinar will provide advice, tips, and suggestions on how to maximise this aspect of the programme in your school.
HOW TO: Develop a tangible business case
Date – To be confirmed
As part of the YPI process students are required to identify and clearly explain how the £3000 will be used by the charity to benefit their local community. This webinar will explore how students can be supported to develop strong, specific and measurable business cases during the YPI programme. This will include insight from a charity and student.
HOW TO: Explore social issues and the local community
Date – 17th November 3.45-4.30pm.
YPI provides a framework for young people to better understand social issues and their impact in the local community. Fully exploring the root causes, immediate impacts, and wide ranging ramifications of social issues better supports young people to identify their role in driving change. This is an important step ahead of selecting charities addressing the needs of the local community. This webinar will share examples from different schools’ approach to this aspect of the programme.
