The YPI National Event is an inspirational and exciting day, recognising #WhyYPI is so important in the drive towards empowering the young changemakers of today and the future.
The event celebrates the impact young people have made in their local communities through performances, musicians and motivational keynote speakers.

How can I register?
The Wood Foundation will email Lead Teachers and SLT links in February with a registration link for schools to register.
Who is invited?
Every secondary school that participates in YPI is invited to the YPI National Event. Each school is allocated six tickets with the opportunity to apply for additional tickets if necessary. Schools can decide who attends the event, in the past schools have taken the winning team, finalists, alumni, or young people who will take part in YPI the following year.
What can I expect from the YPI National Event?
Attendees are provided with a packed lunch on arrival before a programme of inspiring speakers, musicians and young people showcasing their learnings, creativity, and the impact of YPI.
Are my young people expected to deliver their YPI presentation at the National Event?
No, The Wood Foundation will work with schools throughout the year that will contribute to the programme. Schools are invited to be inspired, celebrate, and network with attendees.
Do schools need to pay to attend the event?
No, the event is free to attend. The Wood Foundation organise and cover coach transport from mainland Scotland to Perth Concert Hall and back. Schools in North West Highlands, Western & Northern Isles who fall out with our facilitated travel area will be eligible for a contribution towards travel expenses in support of event travel costs.
How can I reserve seats on the coaches provided by The Wood Foundation?
You can reserve seats on the coaches when you register in February. Details of the coach travel will be sent to schools at the end of May 2023.
