The Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) is a powerful active citizenship programme empowering young people to make a difference in their communities.
YPI engages a full year group of students, developing skills and confidence through a contextualised learning experience. Through teamwork, research, and competition, young people advocate for social issues in a bid to secure a £3000 grant for their chosen charity.
Becoming a School Partner
YPI encourages and supports schools to connect with their local communities and build partnerships during the YPI process. Engagement with schools as a partner can take many forms – from mentoring students, judging final presentations to funding the school’s contribution to the grant, or even longer term opportunities to work together to meet shared aims.
Partners can enhance the YPI experience for young people by increasing the knowledge, experience and skills gained through the process, and this benefit is two-way. Partners have reported that they benefit from engaging with local young people and their communities, supporting charities and enhancing the skills and experiences of their employees. A school might get directly in touch with you, or if you are interested in connecting with a school, let us know.
